The default [[index]] allows you to apply the same value for all [[index|indices]] of a [[dimension|non-scalar]] [[parameter]], [[lookup table|time series]] or [[general variable|option]]. For example, a parameter //Initial_Age// has different values for different people (it [[dependency|depends]] on individual). The study targets a hundred individuals, where all but one is 7 years old at the beginning of the investigated period. By entering the value 7 for the **Default** index, this value is assigned to all 100 indices. The default value only applies where no other value/equation has been written, allowing you to override the value for specific indices.
