During a [[wp>simulation]], the [[simulation output|simulation outputs]] are calculated for the inputs as provided by the user. The simulation is started in the [[simulation screen]]. A simulation will return a folder in the [[user interface#data input screens|result panel]] which contains all the [[simulation output|simulation outputs]]. 

A simulation consists of one ([[deterministic simulation|deterministic]] or more ([[probabilistic simulation|probabilistic]]) [[iteration|iterations]]. In each [[iteration]] all the equations of the [[mathematical model]] are [[solver|solved]]. The number of [[iteration|iterations]] for a [[probabilistic simulation]] is set in the [[simulation screen#probabilistic settings]] window. 

When running several [[scenario|scenarios]], each scenario corresponds to one simulation.
